Born from their love of outdoor and country life, hunting, and all of the requisite toys, Dawson Ridge Bone Worx, LLC. started as a creative outlet for Shawn and Casey Frederickson. At first they worked on their own projects, then pieces for their friends, and then the phone started ringing...
Soon Dawson Ridge’s reputation as the solution for cleaning, whitening and mounting prize animal skulls and antlers began to spread. As the requests for work increased, and their list of clients grew, so did Dawson Ridge’s creativity.
Hydrographics, and its unlimited applications, was added to Dawson Ridge’s stable of services. Hydrographics is the very definition of “custom”! Firearms, animal mounts, cars, trucks, motorcycles, snow mobiles, and every accessory you can think of, Dawson Ridge can customize them all to match your lifestyle!
In an effort to meet it's customers needs, Dawson Ridge has become a LLC company and has their FFL license pending (to accept nation-wide shipping of firearms for customizing).
In 2017 we also updated our name to better match what we do - Dawson Ridge Bone Worxs. LLC..
But with all of the growth and the “official” stuff, Dawson Ridge Bone Worx, LLC. is still Shawn and Casey doing what they love; producing the highest quality products, using time tested and state of the art processes, while keeping it all affordable.

Hyrographics
Water Transfer Printing (also known as Hydrographics, immersion printing, camo dipping, hydro imaging and cubic printing) is a surface decorating process where elaborate graphics like wood grain, carbon fiber, camouflage, geometrical designs, etc… are applied to a 3-D product surface. The Water Transfer Printing process is extensively used to decorate items that range from entire all-terrain vehicles and car dashboards to small items like bike helmets or other automotive trim. Films can be applied to all types of substrates including plastic, fiberglass, wood, ceramics, and metal. For the most part, if the item can be dipped in water, the hydro-graphic process can be used. The process utilizes a water-soluble film that contains the printed patterns. The film dissolves in the water and leaves the ink on the surface. In the typical process, the item to be printed is first coated with a primer or an adhesion promoter. After this dries, a base-coat paint is applied which controls the hue of the pattern. So, for instance, wood grain prints often utilize a brown base-coat and many camouflage patterns use a neutral base. After the base-coat is applied, the item is ready for decorating. The film is activated. The item is then dipped into the water and the ink wraps around it. It is then washed and painted with a clear topcoat.

Beetles/Skulls/Mounts
Dawson Ridge uses a species of dermestid beetle, or carpet beetles, to clean the flesh the skull of your game kill, the most effective way to preserve the skull. Deer, elk, moose, wolf, bear, mountain lion, African lion, alligator, Dawson Ridge beetles have dined on them all! Using beetles to clean, followed with Dawson Ridge’s whitening process, is the surest way to assure the animal skull is ready for display mounting without damage or discoloring.
Shawn and Casey can then mount your prize skull for display as a European or Plaque Mount.
